Excellent, Great Picture![]()
Updated June 17, 2008: This is our second flat-screen LG TV. We bought a bigger unit for downstairs and just picked this one up for the Master suite. We’ve hung it on the wall, using the HDMI connection. We love it.
Pro:
-Very light (~35 pounds) and super thin (~4″)
-Remote is nice and feels good in my hand
-I like that the power button is on the front (cleverly hidden into a piece of the silver trim that runs along the bottom) and input, volume and channel can be changed from the right side/edge. This is handy when the remote goes missing or it’s far away.
-Excellent black, and contrast. I personally think it produces the best (blackest) black, and doesn’t wash out
-Rated for 60,000 hours of use (that’s 2500 days if you left it on all day every day or 20.5 years if you had it on only 8 hours a day)
-3 HDMI connects, we are using 2, plus it does has USB 2.0 so it can power more advanced devices, presumably for things like “thumb drives” for viewing digital photos (although we’ve not tried anything like that yet)
-Fast and easy set-up/install (hung on the wall)
-Speakers are hidden
-In case it wasn’t clearly described in the tech specs you’ve seen elsewhere, this is a 16:9 widescreen LCD HD 1080p TV (that’s full high-definition)
-Warm up time is short, maybe 3 seconds or so
-Very wide viewing angle, looks great in a big space when seated to the side of the TV
-Good for Blu-Ray (although we don’t have it… our DVD player does “upgrade” our DVD signal/picture, but it’s not true Blue-Ray)

Great multi-task TV![]()
I bought this TV to be used as a desktop monitor, cable television, and ps3 720p hd tv for my apartment in College. The unit came fully assembled with base attached so its a go right out of the box. First… as a computer screen with my sony VAIO this thing is amazing! Crisp and bright with a max resolution of 1440 x 900. It is true plug and play aswell with a direct VGA to VGA connection so as a computer screen this is absolutley great. Next, as a tv this unit is also good. Channel surfing is slow but the audio is nice and loud and clear (with a cable connection) and the tuner picks up all available channels and holds them tight. Next, as a HDTV the picture quality blew me away. I use my PS3 to play blu-ray movies and play COD4 in 720p on the monitor and it is perfect. I have a 1000bpms monster HDMI cable (highly recommended when connecting hd devices)that i used to connect my ps3 to my SONY BRAVIA 32inch 1080p back home so i know everything is running at optimum level with this screen. The only disappointment is the voices of people when playing dvd/blu-ray movies. Sitting back 8 ft from the screen with volume at 90% you can barely hear any spoken word which is strange because when switched to TV input, the volume needs not to be past 10% to hear spoken word a clear 15ft away… I plan on solving the HD sound quality problem with a 5.1 logitech surround sound system while in the mean time i use full headphones when watching movies. Other minor draw backs include crappy remote build quality and COMPLETLEY stationary base ( no tilt or anything ). The non tilt is not a big problem as this tv has AMAZING view from pretty extreme angles. So all and all for this price… this TV is great if you can live with or solve the poor spoken word with dvd/hd movies.

How to Look Up
The beauty of astronomy is that anybody can do it. From the tiniest baby to the most advanced astrophysicist, there is something for anyone who wants to enjoy astronomy. In fact, it is a science that is so accessible that virtually anybody can do it virtually anywhere they are. All they have to know how to do is to look up.
It really is amazing when you think about it that just by looking up on any given night, you could see virtually hundreds of thousands of stars, star systems, planets, moons, asteroids, comets and maybe a even an occasional space shuttle might wander by. It is even more breathtaking when you realize that the sky you are looking up at is for all intents and purposes the exact same sky that our ancestors hundreds and thousands of years ago enjoyed when they just looked up.
There is something timeless about the cosmos. The fact that the planets and the moon and the stars beyond them have been there for ages does something to our sense of our place in the universe. In fact, many of the stars we “see” with our naked eye are actually light that came from that star hundreds of thousands of years ago. That light is just now reaching the earth. So in a very real way, looking up is like time travel.
Everybody knows how to look up. Children first discover the amazing light show on display for free every clear night by just looking up. You can probably remember that very first time you noticed that explosion of stars above you when you were a child. Now it is time to foster that same love of astronomy in your own children. You have to teach them how to look up.
While anyone can look up and fall in love with the stars at any time, the fun of astronomy is learning how to become more and more skilled and equipped in star gazing that you see and understand more and more each time you look up. Here are some steps you can take to make the moments you can devote to your hobby of astronomy much more enjoyable.
* Get out of town. The furtherest you can get from the lights of the city, the more you will see in the night sky.
* Know what you are looking at. It is great fun to start learning the constellations, how to navigate the night sky and find the planets and the famous stars. There are web sites and books galore to guide you.
* Get some history. Learning the background to the great discoveries in astronomy will make your moments star gazing more meaningful. It is one of the oldest sciences on earth so find out the greats of history who have looked at these stars before you.
* Get a geek. Astronomy clubs are lively places full of knowledgeable amateurs who love to share their knowledge with you. For the price of a coke and snacks, they will go star gazing with you and overwhelm you with trivia and great knowledge.
* Know when to look. Not only knowing the weather will make sure your star gazing is rewarding but if you learn when the big meteor showers and other big astronomy events will happen will make the excitement of astronomy come alive for you.
And when all is said and done, get equipped. Your quest for newer and better telescopes will be a lifelong one. Let yourself get addicted to astronomy and the experience will enrich every aspect of life. It will be an addiction you never want to break.

Are you interested in Buying a Rolex or Breitling watch? Are they worth the price? Come and find out what it is they don’t want you to know before you make that purchase.
Would You Rather Buy Rolex Watches Or Invicta Watches? The Answer May Surprise You
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Johnny_Mixx]Johnny Mixx
When people hear the word Rolex, prestige and status are terms most people identify them with. But, are they really worth the $10,000 price tag that comes with it? Do most people have that kind of disposable income to spend on such a watch? The answer to both of those questions would have to be “NO” for the average Joe.
If you had a choice to spend thousands of dollars for a watch or a fraction of that for a watch that looked just as good. But, more importantly, worked just as good. Would you be inclined to purchase the lower cost watch? The answer to that question would have to be “YES” for the average Joe.
This is where the high end brand of Invicta watches comes in. Most people may not have heard of the Invicta brand but they are catching on like wildfire. The increase in numbers of avid watch collectors have grown significantly for the past several years. Even for the average Joe, the ability to be a watch collector without draining your pocketbook is the beauty in the Invicta line of men’s and women’s watches.
Invicta has a wide selection of watches that costs $1000 and up. They also have a wide selection of high-end watches that cost around $100. Herein lies the appeal for purchasing an Invicta watch. They cater to the average Joe but also have a great selection of watches for those with higher disposable income. Not only do they carry watches that have the best price point for the average consumer, they also have the looks of a watch that costs much, much more. In fact, most people can’t believe the price of an Invicta watch when compared to the likes of the Rolex’s, Breitling’s, etc.
I have a Rolex Submariner in my collection that cost me thousands of dollars. I also have an Invicta Pro Diver 9937C in my collection that costs a fraction of the Rolex. The big difference is that I don’t mind wearing the Invicta as an everyday watch. It is a true workhorse and it’s craftsmanship is impeccable. Most people will probably only take out the Rolex for those special engagements such as a wedding or fancy dinner. Are you really getting your money’s worth doing that? The answer to that question would have to be a “NO” for the average Joe.
Do yourself a favor and take a look at the Invicta line of men’s and women’s watches. You will not be disappointed. And at their price point, you can buy dozens of watches instead of the one Rolex.
If you are interested in purchasing [http://www.latestinstyle.com]Invicta watches at wholesale prices, please visit us at Latest-in-Style and take a look at the Invicta line of men’s and women’s watches [http://www.latestinstyle.com/top-sellers-c-44.html].

Sharp Aquos LC52D85U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV
This TV is the best I’ve ever owned. Setup was painless and really there was very little tweaking of the colors out of the box. The picture is amazing. PS3 looks great, blueray movies even better and this TV has “5″ HDMI inputs. The room it’s in is very bright and the TV performs great, my previous TV was a HD CRT and would wash out in the day light. Not so with this TV and sports look amazing!!!! I love this TV and I’m very happy with the purchase. I would recommend it to anyone. It is simply the best TV I have ever viewed.
Best TV ever![]()
I’ve owned a variety of HD TVs. This Sharp Aquos 52″ replaces a 61″ DLP system. It is superior in every regard. High Def is a joy with this TV and the 120hz fixes problems that have plagued previous LCDs. I wanted to go with the 65″ version but the price differential was difficult to justify. The 52″ version in my home theater looks great (even my wife was impressed). I hooked up the cable and BluRay player via HDMI and routed the audio from the TV to my 7 speaker Yamaha system via audio optical link. Results were awesome, though I can’t crank up the volume when my wife is in the house (I have been encouraging her to visit her mother more

Best HD TV On the market![]()
I’ve purchased this TV in February, and couldn’t be happier. Besides a nice looking frame, it’s got an amazing picture quality, and a very good sound quality.
I’m a TV aficionado, so I did a lot of research before getting this one. There is still a little bit of pixelation on the 120mhz models around, but if you compare this set with others, more expensive ones like Sony or Samsung, this one is by far the best one. The digital natural motion makes everything look so real, its just amazing. Watching a blu-ray movie on this tv, is probably getting the best picture quality you can get around.
The sound is pretty good. The set has its speakers on the back, so you can’t see them at all, but still, the sound is clear and it can be very loud if you want to. Nice feature.
My only complain is with the menus. I guess they could’ve made some nicer ones. Then again, if you buy a TV for the menus and not for the images, go ahead and buy another one.
The remote is also simple to use, and has all the necessary features. I’m not a universal remote-guy, so I’m pretty happy with this one. Light and easy to use.
Btw, the frame makes a perfect fit for my nintendo wii sensor bar! Not that this is a must, but it was a nice surprise! No tapes, no glue, it just fits perfectly!
The set also has MANY inputs.. it has 3 HDMI inputs, plus component, composite, DVI, USB… I’ve got a ton of accessories plugged in (blu-ray, wii, camera, home theater, occasionaly the laptop..) and there’s a bunch of slots left!

Excellent choice, great delivery service

I decided on the new Toshiba XV545U after extensive research, mainly for the overall design, combination of features and SRT technology.Delivery Service: I ordered direct from Amazon.com and the TV arrived the day after I placed the order (amazing); the “white glove” service was great - the guys handled it with care and brought it straight into the room where I set it up. Came in perfect condition.
Ease of Set-up: I turned it on right out of the box with the default settings (most settings default to “auto”) and the picture is great - the new AutoView feature takes care of most adjustments for you, so it is very simple to get up and going.
Picture Quality: I have the TV hooked to a FiOS HD DVR box and Sony 350 BlueRay player via HDMI, and a Wii via Component Cable. So far, the picture looks fantastic overall. HDTV quality is excellent and BlueRay is awesome as expected. However, SRT is the real differentiator, as standard DTV signals look very good; have not tried a standard DVD yet. SRT does not seem to improve the quality of the Wii picture that much, but it is still good. The 120Hz implementation is also well done, as I do not see any motion blur.
Matte Screen: the screen is a matte surface and does a great job of minimizing glare.
Sound Quality: the sound is better than I expected from the SoundStrip technology - you do not even see the speakers, but the sound is decent (for built-in speakers).
Design: the TV has a nice, rich look - very clean lines with the new double skin thin-line bezel and high-gloss black cabinet.
Overall — highly recommend this TV!
Great s far!

I’ve had this TV for a month now, so I can not speak for it’s reliability yet, but I can say that I am totally pleased with this TV so far. I comparison shopped for a couple of weeks before deciding on the 46XV545U. This TV was the best value and had the most bells and whistles for the money hands down. The picture is stunning in HD, BluRay and DVD’s and I can even say standard def TV is not too bad either, although once you watch HD it is hard too settle for standard def. It’s multi unit remote is well laid out and is now the only remote I use for my whole system, it runs the TV plus 3 other devices. It takes about 4 seconds for the TV to turn on and from what I’ve been reading that’s in a pretty good range. The TV’s menus are easy too navigate and well laid out. There are 6 picture mode settings - Auto View, Sports, Standard, Movie, PC, and user preference, the TV will remember which setting you have for each device which brings me to my only complaint so far, there is only one user preference setting so if you want to tweak the sports mode a little bit then that will be your user setting, then if you tweak the movie setting then that becomes the user setting and you lose the tweaked sports setting, although I liked the factory settings I would like to tweak each setting a little so 5 user preference spots would have been ideal, all in all not a big deal but it is something worth knowing about. This TV has plenty of inputs and I have tried them all, one thing worth metioning is the VGA D-Sub PC input can only handle the following settings: 640×480, 800×600, 1024×768, 1280×768, 1360×768 and 1280×1024. I hooked up my PC through the HDMI input and it was stellar at full 1080p resolution. The sound from this TV was more than exceptable but I have surround sound so I do not use the TV speakers.I choose not to buy the extended warrenty after reading reviews on them. you get 1 year manufacter warrenty and my credit card covers the second year for free so it was not worth the extra money to get a third or fourth year of coverage, so I hope this TV will last!
Delivery took one week, and I bought direct from Amazon with the “white glove” delivery. They can unpack the TV and take away the box, but I reccomend keeping the box in case any returns are needed. I had this TV unpacked and setup in less than 15 minutes.
In summation, I think you will not find a better TV for a little over $1600 bucks that has all the features of this one. As long as this TV does not break down I will be very happy with my purchase.
Toshiba Regza Cimama Series 46XV545A 46-Inch HDTV

I researched all major brands before I placed my order but you will pay more money for a similar equipped 46 In LCD HDTV with 1080p 120Hz refresh rate and 5 star energy rating.Received TV three days after order was placed.Two-man white glove delivery unpacked checked for damage and placed.Since the outside temperature was in the teens could not turn on until set was at room temperature.Set up was no problem go to menu follow directions and you are done.
